From Lamentation to Celebration

Scripture: Luke 19-24

A Perfect Relation

“The whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!”
(Luke 19:37-38)

“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. . . And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:27, 31)

A Dark Realization

“But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.” (Luke 22:22)

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)

A True Admission

“And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, ‘Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.’ And he went out and wept bitterly.” (Luke 22:61-62)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Redemption

This is my body, which is given for you . . . this cup that is poured out for is the new covenant in my blood.” (Luke 22:19-20)

“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:10)
