Scripture: Daniel 8:27

1. When Seeing Leads to Confusion . . .

“I was appalled by the vision and did not understand it

“Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours, searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which the angels long to look.”  (1 Peter 1:10-12)

.  .  .  Trust in the God who has always proven Himself faithful

 Seek to understand God

“I Daniel had a vision, I sought to understand it” (Daniel 8:15)

2. When Knowing Leads to Despair . . .

“I, Daniel, was overcome and lay sick for some days”

“Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:35-36)

. . . Grow in Compassion for those who desperately need God’s grace

Seek to love people

“When Jesus drew near and saw the city, he wept over it”  (Luke 19:41)

3. When Waiting Leads to Action . . .

“Then I rose and went about the king’s business

“stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks

.  .  . Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.”
(Luke 12:35-48)

. . . Rise up and go about the King’s business
