Luke 1:26-38
“For nothing will be impossible with God.” (v37)
Faith is possible when you remember that
God is with you
And he came to her and said, ‘Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!’” (v28)
“Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means,God with us).” (Matthew 1:23)
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” (Colossians 1:15)
You no longer need to be troubled
“She was greatly troubled . . . “ (v29)
Faith is possible when you remember that
God is for you
“And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.’” (v30)
“He (being God) chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has blessed us in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:4-6)
You no longer need to be afraid
“Do not be afraid Mary . . .” (v30)
Faith is possible when you remember that
God is over you
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (v31-33)
“I lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth. . . The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” (Psalm 121)
You no longer need to question why or how
“And Mary said to the angel, ‘How will this be’ . . .”
Faith is possible when you remember that
God is upon you
“And the angel answered her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you: therefore the child to be born will be called holy- the Son of God.’” (v35)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses . . .” (Acts 1:8)
