A Heart for the Savior

  “I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus” (v5)

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.” (John 15:9)

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30)

A Heart for the Saints

“I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints.” (v5)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

“And this commandment we have from him; whoever loves God must also love his brother.” (1 John 4:21)

A Heart for the Sinners

“I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart.” (v12)

“receive him as you would receive me” (v17)

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:43-44)
