Scripture: 2 John

Walking in the Truth

“I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded
by the Father.” (Verse 4)

Love in Truth

“…that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this
is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.”
(Verses 5–6)

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

“…A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you
also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have
love for one another.” (John 13:34–35)

Know the Truth

“…Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin…”  (Romans 7:7)

“…but also all who know the truth” (Verse 1)

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God…” (1 John 4:1)

The Truth of God Abides in a True Believer

“Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” (Verse 9)

Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.” (1 John 2:24-25)

Application

Do not seek to simply know about God but seek to know him personally.
