 Job 38:39-40:5

Ask yourself . . . “who is God?”

He is the Lord  (Yahweh)

“And the LORD said to Job”. (Job 40:1)

“Then Moses said to God, ‘If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘the God of your Father’s has sent me to you’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I  AM.’” (Genesis 3:13-14)

He is Almighty (Shaddai)

“And the Lord said to Job: ‘Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty?’” (Job 40:1-2)

“When (Abraham) was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to (Abraham) and said to him, ‘I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless’ . . .” (Genesis 17:1)

 He is God (Elohim)

“And the LORD said to Job; ‘Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.” (Job 40:1-2)

I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you into a great nation.” (Genesis 46:3)

Ask yourself . . . “who am I?”

I am a faultfinder

“Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty?” (Job 40:2)

“Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’” (Isaiah 45:9)

 I am of small account

“Then Job answered the LORD and said; ‘Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. I have spoken once, and I will not answer twice, but I will proceed no further.’” (Job 40:4-5)

“Abraham answered and said, ‘Behold, I have taken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.’” (Genesis 18:27)

I am a child of God

“But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1)

May your 2019 be blessed with the understanding of who you are, and who God is.
