The Promise of an Eternal Home

“But our citizenship is in heaven (v20)

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” (Ephesians 2:19)

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you? (John 14:2)

The Promise of a Returning Savior

“ . . . and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (v20)

“So, Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:28)

“I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:3)

The Promise of a Glorious Body

“who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body” (v21)

“So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.” (1 Corinthians 15:42-44)

The Promise of a Sovereign King

“. . . by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.” (v21)

“he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords.” (1 Timothy 6:15)
