Philippians 2:5-11

“Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.” (Matthew 1:20) 

Jesus is a Great Name Because He is God

Christ Messiah, the Anointed One

“. . . Christ Jesus, who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped . . .” (v5-6)

Jesus said “ I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30)

“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.’”(John 8:58)

Jesus is a Great Name Because He is Man

Jesus Yeshua, God saves

“Christ Jesus,.  . . emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (v7-8)

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

“And there is salvation in no one else for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
