Scripture: Psalm 30

We Glorify the LORD Because He is Savior

“I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up . . .  you have healed me. . . .O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.” (v1-3)

“The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” (Exodus 15:2)

“The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of the Philistine”

(1 Samuel 17:37)

We Sing Praises to the LORD Because He is Good

“Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” (v4-5)

“Do good to Zion in your good pleasure”

(Psalm 51:18)

“And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives” (Matthew 26:20)

We Pray to the LORD Because He is Merciful

“To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy . . . Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD be my helper!’” (v8-10)

“Have mercy on me, O God according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy” (Psalm 51:1)

“pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

We Give Thanks to the LORD Because He is Faithful

“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!” (v11-12)

“So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing. . . . And David danced before the LORD with all his might.” (2 Samuel 6:12,14)
