Brian Shorey joined Hope Baptist Church in the beginning of 2015 as the Youth and Children’s Pastor. Prior to joining Hope Baptist Church he volunteered helping his pastor with the youth group for a couple years at the church he grew up in, Sovereign Grace Fellowship in Boscawen, New Hampshire. He then moved to Jay, Maine as the Intern Volunteer Youth Leader at Beans Corner Baptist Church. During the summers he also worked at Camp Berea in North Turner, Maine as a Counselor and then as the Assistant Director.
Brian grew up in Franklin, New Hampshire. He was home schooled along with his two brothers and three sisters. Brian grew up in a Christian family that went to church and any other weekly church meeting every week. He consequently had an understanding of who Jesus was and believed in Jesus at a fairly young age. In his freshman year of college at a local Tech School he began to better understand his personal need for Jesus as his Savior. It was no longer simply because it was what his family believed or what he was always taught growing up. Brian transferred to New England Bible College in South Portland, Maine after his first year at the local Tech School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry. Brian married Rachel in 2013. They quickly became best friends while working together at Camp Berea in 2011.
